In keeping with the theme of our upcoming print edition, Democracy: On the Brink?, we have been lucky enough to link up with Warwick lecturer and TV personality Prof. Michael Scott, to host a discussion about where democracy came from and how it is being practiced today.

As an Ancient Historian, Michael frequently lecturers on Ancient Democracy and Imperialism, Greek Religion and (most recently ) Ancient Global History. His outstanding research in these fields opened up opportunities with both the BBC and ITV on a number of documentaries including: Ancient Invisible Cities, Who were the Greeks?, Ancient Greece: The Greatest Show on Earth and Roman Britain from the Air.
